Importance of Connection, a Study to Help "Spur One Another On"
Christian community is such an important part of how we live as Christians. Jesus gathered disciples around himself to create a community. The early Church spent much of their time in community together. Having a community of other believers around benefits us, and our faith in so many different ways.
In fact, belonging to a group or community in which we can identify helps us develop a stronger sense of personal and collective identity. It can also give a boost to our self-esteem and to our willingness to take on the world and make our dreams happen. But the importance of community goes beyond that.
We need each other to help us live lives that reflect Christ so that our lives will show witness to the love of Christ. Christian community is the canvas that displays the love for each other that Christ has commanded (John 13:34-35, 15:12).
